It’s important to check your oil and other fluids frequently, and, on top of that, generally, your oil and other fluids should be changed at least once a year.
Counter-intuitive as it may seem, sometimes the best thing you can do for your car is to run the engine periodically. When you run our engine for about 20 minutes, many things happen. First, your alternator gives your battery back the charge that may have leaked out while the car was off. Second, your systems start pumping your fluids across the engine, transmission, and more, and these fluids maintain the natural corrosion protection that they’re meant to provide. We recommend running your engine for 20 minutes or even taking a drive every once a week to make sure that everything continues to run as it should.
